Are there specific hours for lab work and nurse visits?

To reduce your wait time, our suggested lab and nurse visit hours are:
8-11:30 am
1:30 – 4 pm

Can I have my lab work at the time of my visit?

Yes, unless special instructions such as “fasting” are required.

Should I be fasting for my Physical appointment (or my cholesterol recheck visit) in case labs are drawn?

We prefer to have labs drawn a few days before a physical so that results can be discussed at the visit. If a lipid profile is ordered, then a fasting test is more accurate.

How long will my appointment take?

Appointment time vary by type and doctor. You can expect physicals and new patient appointments to last up to an hour.

If I’m late for my appointment, can I still be seen?

Out of courtesy to our patients who arrive on time for their appointments, if you are late checking in, you may be asked to reschedule at the discretion of the provider. Please arrive 15 minutes before routine appointments and 30 minutes before physicals and new patient appointments.

I do not have an appointment, but I’m sick. Can I show up at the office and expect to be seen?

In order to accommodate patients with appointments, we do discourage walk-in appointments. We will be happy to make you an appointment by phone. You may reach our triage line by dialing directly to 828-210-3683.

Is there a better time to call the office so that I won’t have to hold so long?

Mornings and days after holidays seem to have the highest call volume. Plan routine phone calls for afternoons.

How much will my appointment cost?

Costs vary according to the complexity of the visit and procedures done. If you have a co-pay for your insurance, please pay at check in.

What if I get sick on the weekend or at night?

Our office has an on-call physician who will handle your call. Please call our answering service at 828-258-4768 and the physician will be paged.

I want to speak directly to my physician or his nurse, how can I do this?

Our practice has highly trained triage nurses to take your detailed message for the physicians. Your physician or his nurse will return your call.

My doctor told me that I would be referred to a specialist, I haven’t heard anything, how long should I wait before I call?

If you have not heard within 2 business days of your appointment time, please call our referral line @ 418-5520 and speak directly with our referral specialists.
